Reflections on a Vocational Happenstance
"Songs won't save the planet, but neither will books or speeches." - Pete Seeger
Pete Seeger's right, of course. And knitting won't save the planet, either; this I know.
Nor will independent book stores or farmers markets. Not poems, perennial gardens, nor nesting boxes. Not even public libraries. None of these things is a panacea.
But I have to believe that each of them contributes to healing the Whole.
Voice by voice, stitch by stitch, word by word, green by green, idea by idea. Life by Life.
Surely individual initiative must be the force that shapes our collective conscience.
No one of us, then, is powerless.
